Regenerating Green Tea Eye Serum
Another lifetime ago when I didn’t have littles tugging at my legs begging for attention, I had time to make a lovely green tea eye cream. It involved infusing oils, melting oils, and putting it all together in a lovely little container to harden. Well guys, getting two kids overnight changes things. I don’t have time for half the things I used to. All I’m trying to say is—I’ve simplified my eye cream recipe and made it a serum. No melting involved. Once you have your oil infused, it takes just minutes to throw together. Now that’s what I’m talking about.

Green Tea Eye Serum
Ingredients
40 grams green tea infused avocado oil
30 grams jojoba oil
15 grams olive squalane
10 grams pomegranate seed oil
4 grams green tea glycerite (or plain glycerin)
1 gram vitamin e
Directions
In a small container weigh out all the ingredients. This does make a very small batch since the area around your eyes is so small you do not need much. Once you weigh everything out, mix it up very well and pour it into a small glass container. A small funnel is very helpful. I have found that using a roller bottle makes for really easy application.
That’s it! Apply this every night to the area around your eyes and eyelid. Be careful not to get it in your eyes.
Some eye serums contain essential oils in them, and while I love oils I personally am not comfortable applying them so close to my eyes.
If you do not have olive squalane feel free to substitute it for more of either the green tea infused avocado oil or jojoba oil—or a combination of both.

Avocado oil
Avocado oil is an emollient, fortifying, and regenerating oil. It’s great for dry, dehydrated skin, and wrinkles.
Green Tea
All the delicious antioxidants found in green tea can also help the skin externally by reducing inflammation which helps reduce puffiness and delays the signs of aging. The tannins in green tea help to tighten and tone the skin, and the antibacterial properties can help eliminate acne.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba is an antinflammatory oil that helps to soothe inflamed skin, and reduce the look of wrinkles. It’s a very balancing oil.
Olive Squalane
Olive squalane mimics the natural oils in your face. It’s an emollient that helps smooth and soften skin. It penetrates the skin quite readily which allows it to be a great carrier for other ingredients.
Pomegranate Seed Oil
Pomegranate seed oil is conditioning, soothing, and an emollient. It helps slow the signs of aging, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Glycerin
Glycerin is a humectant that helps draw in moisture and holds it there. Your skin loves moisture so this is helpful for keeping skin look young..
Vitamin e
Vitamin e is an antioxidant that helps heal skin but is also used to keep oils from going rancid quite as quickly.
